You have a point, but on the other perspective it has it benefits, esp when applied on business. There are some good things about outsourcing that we cannot just generalize.

Setting up an offshore company is very crucial, I suggest we really need to find a good one who can help us.

Bob:

This is certainly a very valid point, to be taken into account before starting any project. The way we address this issue for our outsourcing projects is either by locating the team in Mexico (around 20% more expensive than Asia though), and by having a project manager in the USA in charge of interfacing to the offshore team. That said, 12 hours (usually India for the USA) is the worst case because there is no convenient time for the 2 teams (inshore and offshore) to connect. It is a little better with China as we can have our daily stand-up meetings at 4:30 pm CST without creating much trouble on either side. A team located in Eastern Europe or Asia only makes sense when the time difference can help reduce the development times.

Another factor to seriously consider is the time difference. A 12 hour time difference can reek havoc on project management and employee attitudes. The time difference severely limits communication which can slow progress and effect the quality of the end result.

hi!

If outsourcing is that bad, so why companies are more tilting to outsourcing? because outsourcing gives more advantages than disadvantages.

Foremost advantage is cost effectiveness and time saving. Companies don't need to make new infrastructure for their non core business segments and get high skilled labor in lower cost.
